The Award

IQS Safeguarding &Wellbeing in Schools Award

Celebrates the achievement of schools in embedding safeguarding in every strand of the school culture, curriculum and classroom. The award process provides that instrument of accountability and monitoring compliance for ensuring that schools have appropriate structures, processes, and resources in place to ensure safeguarding and wellbeing is central to all the school does and that children are protected with enabling environments. This is an evidence-based process available to schools internationally and aligned with global best practices.

It is committed to supporting schools in building and embedding a culture that places transparency and sound safeguarding & well-being practice at the centre of all its activities – Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that, ‘every child should be protected from abuse’. Everyone has a responsibility to make sure that children are safeguarded and protected from abuse and neglect
